2025 Annual Fine Art Show

Entry Deadline: Monday, October 20th, 2025
Drop Off: Artwork & Bin pieces due Friday, October 31, 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Public Awards Ceremony - Saturday, November 1, at 11:00 am
Raffle Drawing and People’s Choice Award: Sunday, Nov. 2 at 2:45 pm
Pick up: Sunday, Nov. 2, from 3 pm to 3:15 pm

MEDIUM CATEGORIES:
Acrylic, Drawing: Includes Charcoal, Pastel, Pen & Ink, Pencil and Colored Pencil, Graphite etc., Mixed Media: More than one medium has been used., Oil: Includes water soluble oil
Watercolor, and "Deja Vu". Each category includes a sub-category for beginners!

ELIGIBILITY AND PROCEDURES:
• You must be a paid member of the Art Club to be eligible for this show.
• You may enter one (1) to six (6) works of art executed in any traditional media, in the Category (s) of your choice.
• The entry fee is $5 for each entry up to six total. Entry Form must be received by the above Entry Deadline. A 10% donation from all artwork net sales will be retained for the Art Club.
• Artist determines price of artwork for sale, unless marked NFS (Not for Sale).
• All entries must be the ORIGINAL work of the artist using the artist’s own photos or resources (with the exception of the Déjà vu category), completed within the past three (3) years and not shown in a previous Sun City Summerlin Art Club Art Show. Works that have been painted on by any instructor will not be eligible. Working from your own photo is acceptable.
• All Déjà vu paintings must be NFS. Selling said material would be a copyright infringement and must be kept in your private collection.
• The Art Club will not be responsible for any copyright infringement.
• All work must be suitably framed/matted with wire hangers (no saw tooth hangers) and shall not exceed 40” inches on any side.
• Canvas painted around all edges does not have to be framed.
• Artists are advised to secure their own insurance for the value of their works.
• All works shall remain as placed by the art show committee.
• Any disputes under these Rules: the decision of the Chairperson of the Art Show and the President of the Art Club is final. If an artwork is found to infringe on the rules, any award ribbon and cash prizes may be subject to forfeiture.
• No paintings will be removed from the exhibit until after 3:00pm on Sunday, when the Show has ended.
• Artist shall pick up their works on Sunday between 3:00 and 3:15pm. Paintings unclaimed at 3:30pm will be transferred to the Desert Vista Multi-Purpose Room. The Sun City Art Club will not be responsible for any loss.
ENTRY LEVELS:
Beginner - Artist is just getting started with no more than 2 years experience and has entered no more than 1 previous competition. Artist may have received guidance.
Intermediate/Advanced - Artist has accomplished some mastery in the media. Artist may have sold their work and/or won cash prizes.
Professionals & Teachers - Artist has earned a living as an artist, sells their work through a gallery or has been published. Professionals and Teachers are encouraged to exhibit and sell their work but may not compete for awards.

ART BIN RULES:
Regular Art Show Rules will apply except for:
• Submit up to ten (10) works, including originals and/or reproductions.
• Works on paper must be matted and sleeved.
• Works on Canvas will be unframed and must not have any hardware on the backside.
• Maximum size will be 16” x 20” on outside
• Reproductions MUST BE archival quality, and professionally reproduced. Pieces MUST be copies of your own original artwork.
• Reproductions must be labeled as such on each piece along with the kind of reproduction it is. The word “print” cannot be used unless it is a hand-pulled print.
• A reproduction of an original that has been altered by adding paint or other media is considered an “altered reproduction” and may not be sold as an original.
• The Club will retain 10% Donation of each sale.
